I'm mostly done, it's tempting to try and emulate all that canvass texture without the usual Photoshop tricks (masochistic?), but I don't think I will. I may continue picking at that wall...bricks are a pain in the ass.
The beginnings of a Sargent study, about an hours worth. Will hopefully continue it tonight. Here's the original painting.

Plus a commissioned portrait I did recently.

Okay, I'm probably abandoning this idea now, the composition just isn't working for me, this is a ruff, hack'n'slash visualisation of what I wanted to do with it, but like I said, not working. It's based on childhood fears, namely mine of deep depths and what lurks within (thanks Mum and Dad, for letting me watch Jaws and other such watery nightmares at a young age). It's a shame because drawing those rocks was Goddamned tedious. Oh well.

This is a quick sketch as an alternative, I think the composition is much stronger but I still want to include sea monsters in it, but at the moment there isn't any room. Hummm...

Something I'm working on, hopefully done by Monday at latest...

Idea for some kind of comic. The zombienaut is a character I've flirted with before, I feel that something can be done with him. I also just finished reading Time by Stephen Baxter, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Anyone who's read it will recognise something I swiped from that book.

Some illustrations from a recent commission. I would explain them but they're kinda boring and Guernsey specific.

Tell me when this gets boring.

A little nostalgia. Was inspired to do this after seeing this by Shoki/SP. I'm a little worried how naturally it came, although not surprised. Believe it or not Dragon Ball Z is what inspired to take up drawing seriously, I'd copy that shit day and night, I thought I was learning good anatomy, haha! Oh to be a teenager.

I may colour this tomorrow.

*Shrugs*

Does it work? (readable, funny, pacing etc.)

Update: I've been informed it's a little too reliant on bad puns, comes off as immature and not particularly funny. Me in a nutshell, haha. I'm going to keep trying though, I have some different ideas to try (but if anyone who visits this blog fancies themselves a decent writer, drop me an e-mail with some samples, maybe we could collaborate).

I'm trying my hand at a little 3 panel comic strip. I'm worried that it looks too much like Penny Arcade, as it's the only comic I read and I'm a big fan so it's bound to be an influence. The same concerns go for the style of humour too...the one thing that will be different is the subject matter. I may touch on video games now and then, but it won't be about them, more geared toward home life over here on the rock. I'll place the dialogue in soon, once I find a decent font.

I'm naming the comic Bean Jar after a traditional Guernsey dish, which despite what you may find on the net, isn't nearly as popular as it's made out to be.
