Oooh nice! going to the effort of setting something up to study instead of drawing the stuff on your desk..
Two very different line qualities, is one done in charcoal?
Yeah, the first is pencil, the second is charcoal. I can't get the hang of charcoal, makes me feel clumsy. I only like it when I ignore accuracy a bit and concentrate on flow and line quality. Seeing charcoal drawings like http://nathanfowkes.blogspot.com/ this guy does, makes me wanna cry (plus, everything else he does is awesome on top of that).
I feel the same with charcoal, tried it once and couldn't make any use of it. I think you're pretty good with it though.
